Day #1: We had a wonderful drive into Manhattan where we got to see the NYC skyline, the Freedom tower and 911 memorial. At the Bowery mission Pastor Jason told us about the history of one of the country’s oldest and most well known rescue mission. Over 650,000 meals are served annually to those in need. We then sang in one of their chapels and were blessed by their enthusiastic response. We took an afternoon walk to Yankee Stadium where we, of course, sang!

After visiting St Patrick’s cathedral, Chamber Choir arrived at the Evangelical Garifuna Church of Manhattan, which is just north of Harlem. One of their pastors then led us on a walk over the river into the Bronx to visit Yankee stadium. Later, the pastors shared with us the history of the Garifuna people and church and provided an incredibly delicious and authentic Garifuna meal with homemade tortillas, beans, chicken, pork, and a cold cinnamon rice drink!

Day #2: Chamber Choir began the day by ferrying to the Statue of Liberty, touring the structure, and finding a quiet place to eat lunch. In the afternoon, we saw Broadway show My Fair Lady. Souderton Mennonite Church provided host families for the evening.

Day #3: Chamber and Concert choirs participated in the Souderton ALIVE worship service this morning. Seven area churches gathered together at a local park for a meaningful time of worship. A huge thank you to Souderton Mennonite Church for hosting MCCL singers!
