MCCL welcomes Ron Guenther as an Advisory Board Member. Guenther is a seasoned leader with more than 40 years of experience in accounting, financial management, and nonprofit administration. He currently serves as Finance & Administration Manager at Mennonite Disaster Service and has previously held key roles in executive leadership and human resources.
A graduate of Fresno Pacific University, Guenther has contributed his expertise across both corporate and nonprofit sectors, including High Industries, Hollinger Inc., Ten Thousand Villages, and Locust Grove Mennonite School. He has supported emerging entrepreneurs through ASSETS and served as treasurer for the Diamond Street Early Childhood Center.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Guenther is deeply rooted in music and community life. He has sung in choral ensembles for more than 40 years—35 of them with the Lancaster Chamber Singers, where he also served as president—and remains active in music ministry at Akron Mennonite Church.

MCCL is pleased to announce the appointment of Maira Myers as Program Assistant, supporting music theory coordination, music program logistics, development, and communications. A 2024 music education and vocal performance graduate of Messiah University, Myers brings a strong passion for music theory and composition. While a student at Messiah University, Maira received the top award for the Choral Composition Competition from the PA American Choral Directors Association. In her work with MCCL, she will:
- Coordinate music theory resources and teach a musicianship class
- Review weekly practice and theory assignments
- Provide office support for MCCL’s music, development, and communications functions
“My goal is to help students discover their musical passions and feel supported in a creative community,” Myers shared.

The Mennonite Children’s Choir of Lancaster is honored to recognize Lamar Myers as an emeritus member of the MCCL Advisory Board. Myers concluded nine years of dedicated service on the board in June 2025. His connection to MCCL extends back to 1998, when his wife, Patricia Strong Myers, founded the choir. His steady support has been woven into the organization’s story from the beginning.
Throughout his tenure, Myers offered thoughtful, prayerful leadership that strengthened MCCL in lasting ways. He helped shape HR best practices, guided the organization through financial restructuring as interim treasurer, and consistently encouraged the board and staff to remain grounded in MCCL’s mission of linking faith with excellent choral singing. His humility, wisdom, and genuine care for MCCL singers have been a gift to all who served alongside him.
MCCL extends deep gratitude for Lamar’s faithful leadership and looks forward to the continued blessing of his presence and insight in the years ahead.
