A Joy‑Filled Week of Creativity and Community

MCCL’s Music & More Camp 2026 (June 23 – 25) brought nearly 50 campers from kindergarten through grade 5 together for a vibrant week of woodworking, art, music, cooking, dance, and more. It is one of our favorite weeks of the entire year, filled with curiosity, creativity, and joyful learning.

A Rainy but Wonderful First Day

Even though the week began with rain, campers and counselors embraced the first day with flexibility and enthusiasm. Their energy set the tone for everything that followed. We were grateful for each instructor who taught art, cooking, percussion, messy games, music, and other hands‑on activities throughout the week. The learning and friendships that began on day one continued to grow beautifully.

Creativity in Full Swing

By the second day, campers were fully immersed in making and exploring. They crafted instruments in art class, built flower boxes in woodworking, and learned lively Latin dances each morning. Afternoon sessions offered hand‑making tortillas, exploring Samba percussion rhythms, or creating hand crafts, each one filled with excitement and new discoveries.

Every day ended with choir for all campers, followed by messy games that sparked laughter and connection. And for campers in grades 2 through 5, the week included a special trip to Woodcrest Retreat for waterside fun!

Art, Rhythm, and Adventure Continue

Campers wrapped up their creative projects, proudly sharing their music and creations with parents. The afternoon brought plenty of laughter as everyone joined in a lively water balloon game, ending the day with smiles and soaked shirts.
